Ben's Desktop Controller
Quick Start

  • Extract the Desktop Controller zip file in a new folder (or same folder if you already have a folder for it);
  • If Windows asks you firewall permission for Desktop Controller, make sure to allow access by putting checks in the firewall permissions;
  • Launch 'Desktop Controller.exe' (with administrator rights if you want to monitor your computer's hardware. To start Desktop Controller with administrator rights, right-click on the .exe file and select run as administrator);
  • If you want Desktop Controller to start when Windows starts, go in the edit -> preferences and put a check in 'Auto-start with Windows'. You can also check 'Auto-hide to task bar on start'. Close the settings panel;
  • In the main window, click on 'Add' to add a new screen;
  • Click on 'Add Button' to add a button;
  • Click on the button to open the button's editor;
  • In the Contents section, click on 'Add' to add content to the button;
  • Choose 'Message Box' and click 'OK';
  • Type a message in the 'Text to show' box;
  • Close the button editor and click the menu File -> Save;
  • Open the network settings with Edit -> Connection;
  • Type the web link in you touch screen device's web browser;
  • Click on the Desktop Controller presentation button in the web browser;
  • The button should appear in your browser. Click on the button and a message box should appear on your computer. Note that the message box may appear below other Windows. You can find it in Windows' task bar.
